YOUNGSTOWN, OH – In order to serve rural families living on fairgrounds, the Diocesan Office of Rural Life and Ministry announces opportunities to celebrate Catholic Mass at five county fairs:

  • Bishop David Bonnar will preside Catholic Mass at the Columbiana County Fair in Lisbon on Sunday, August 4th at 8:00 A.M. The Mass will be held in the Arts and Crafts building near Gate A, off of Lee Ave. in Lisbon

  • Joseph Calasanctius Parish will host Catholic Mass at the Ashtabula County Fair on Sunday, August 11th at 7:30 A.M. with Fr. John Ettinger presiding.

  • Mass will be celebrated at the Randolph Fair in Portage County on August 25th at 9:00 A.M. with Fr. Jim Lang.

  • Lang will also preside at Mass at the Stark County Fair on Sunday, September 1st. More details regarding the Stark County Fair will be forthcoming.

  • Also, on September 1st, Fr. Kevin Peters will celebrate Mass at the Canfield Fair in Mahoning County at 8:00 A.M. at the Concourse Stage near the Grandstand.

  • We look forward to adding the Trumbull County Fair to our list next year.

In addition, Mass for the Feast of the Assumption will be celebrated on August 15th, 7:00 P.M., at the Cabin Church at Saint Philip Neri in Dungannon.

All are welcome to participate in these celebrations of our faith. These Masses are essential for families who are spending the week with their animals at the Fair. Please come to support and to become better acquainted with the rural and farming communities of our diocese.
