Taize Prayer Service: National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM)

You are invited to join the Youngstown Chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) at their upcoming event!

A summer time Taize Prayer Service is going to take place on June 13th at 6:30pm at St. Joan of Arc in Streetsboro. This is the perfect way to begin the summer and Ordinary Time. We are looking for those that might be interested in playing and singing for this service. There will be a potluck style dinner afterwards. NPM is a national organization for Catholic church musicians. According to their mission statement, “The National Association of Pastoral Musicians fosters the art of musical liturgy. The members of NPM serve the Catholic Church in the United States as musicians, clergy, liturgists, and other leaders of prayer.”

NPM holds webinars and conferences each year for its members, both regionally and nationally. Their website allows networking opportunities between members, and they send regular emails with reflections and links to online articles and publications. In addition to this, NPM offers certificates for cantors, pianists, and organists to help foster their continued learning.
