St. Mary’s Church was started by Irish immigrants in the 1870’s when they saw the need for their own parish. A small plot of land was purchased on Main Street and on Dec. 25, 1870, the first mass was celebrated.
From 1870 until 1881, St. Mary’s was a mission church of St. Ann’s in Brier Hill, Youngstown. The mission grew into a church that now serves over 330 families.
